The maunderings, mostly political and social, of a natural-born cynic, who suffers fools not gladly; facts and opinions about history, and science, and their influence on the psychodynamics of contemporary politics, peppered with commentary, speculation, and snark.
I am not a Democrat or democrat, Republican or republican, though perhaps resigned to the latter, were it attainable.
But Cassandra's Son.
I am a retired attorney. During my career, I have practiced law and consulted on business projects for more than 50 years in Chicago and around the country, including serving as Legal Counsel to the International Amphitheatre during the 1968 Democratic Convention, and with the National Guard JAG office during the Dr. King riots.
I have traveled widely, visiting every inhabitable continent, except Australia, and, perforce, to many countries, including several in Western Europe. I have journeyed the former USSR, and Mainland China, where I walked on the Great Wall, ate well, and saw an Army of ceramic lawn ornaments. I have safaried the Serengeti, skied the Alps, Rockies, and Coastal Range, cruised the Aegean, the Yangtze, Amazon and Nile rivers, the Alaska Passage, rafted the Colorado River, transited the Panama Canal, and crossed the Atlantic on the QE2 and Concorde.
Surviving cancer and having been shot at, accidentally, three times, "without effect," I am now writing. So far, so good.
